This is Grace's new phrase - "Stop crazying me around!". She sometimes says it when she knows Kyle and I are teasing her but she is not exactly sure what we are saying. The first time she said this, we burst out laughing, so now Grace says it to get a laugh.
We are gearing up for Easter around here. The bunny ears, plastic eggs, and Easter baskets came out of the closet today.
Instead of doing the yard work on this chilly, grey day, we colored our hard-boiled eggs. Grace didn't like using that little metal tool they provide with the egg dye so her fingers turned into rainbows while we were experimenting with mixing colors. So egg dying was followed by a nice long bath!

Princess Ariel
We are getting ready for Disney....can you tell?
Last time we went, we didn't see any princesses. This time, it is going to be a girl trip - just Grace, Nana, and Mommy - and we have three princess character meals planned....including one at Cinderella's castle!

Spring showers
Unseasonably warm temperatures in the mid-70s has brought everyone out of their houses in our area. Daisy got a much needed "spring shower" today with Grace as the helper!
I think Daisy is saying, "Ha! Gotcha!"

Little Leprechaun
I found out today what a big deal St. Patrick's Day is with the kindergarten and first graders at my school. Like Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy they really believe the school was infested with naughty leprechauns who made mischief everywhere and left them "gold" coins. I went out at lunchtime to get some gold coins for Grace so she will have them on her keyboard tomorrow morning. That is one way to get her to practice her piano!

Saturday ballet
This afternoon we went to see The Little Mermaid ballet in Akron. For the first time I was really disappointed in the quality of the performance by this youth ballet company. We have seen several shows by them including the Wizard of Oz and the Nutcracker, and each time I have been amazed at the costumes, sets, music, and professional level of dance. Not today. I wouldn't tell Grace but even the front row seats couldn't make up for the lackluster performances by the dancers. The best part of the experience was spending a few hours with my girl who is growing up WAY TOO FAST and getting to see Kellie and Dawson.
Those words on the wall behind Grace are
words she is learning at school. I am trying to reinforce them
at home without making it too much of a chore.
When we were looking for a parking space downtown Grace noticed these banners hanging on the outside of the parking garage. She said she wanted to take a picture in front of them, but then when we got there on foot, she was cold so she looks a little "distressed" in this photo! But, driving around Akron reminded me that there are some cool things to photograph....when the weather is a little warmer!

Just playin'
Kyle went to a basketball game so Grace and I enjoyed some "girl time". We don't get that too often since my new job has me working many nights.
That is baby powder all over Grace. She likes to put it on herself, the bed, the towel, the carpet...after a bath!

Forever Family Day #4
Four years ago on March 6th, we were in Guatemala waiting for Grace's visa to enter the United States. They gave me this little 9 1/2 month old baby and I had no idea what to do with her. Now, I don't know what I would do without her!

Spring pictures
It was February 17th but the backdrop for Grace's school photos was a spring scene. Whoever the photographer was, he or she did a fantastic job getting her to show her real smile. I love them!
And the class photo came out cute. I love when Grace tells me the names of all the children. She doesn't hesitate for a second and is a little impatient with me for NOT knowing everyone. I think she forgets that I am not the one who hangs out with her friends all day!

Dr. Seuss
In honor of what would have been Dr. Seuss's 108th birthday tomorrow, Grace's school celebrated Dr. Seuss day with stories and fun activities. We are doing the same thing at my school so I bought this hat for her (well, both of us)...I guess she has a little growing to do before it will fit!
