Grace has been very into pretending to cook. She loves the kitchen Aunt Nancy and Uncle Chris gave her for her 1st birthday and plays with it and her toy food just about every day. She really makes me laugh when she puts her "chocolate chip cookies" on a plastic plate, puts them in the "oven", turns the dials, and tells me it is hot. In a couple of minutes she will put her oven mitt on and then look into the compartment to see if the cookies are done. It is really funny. The teachers at school tell me a couple of times per week that she enjoys playing with the kitchen there, too.
Nana and Big Daddy sent Grace an Italian dinner (pizza, ravioli, cheese, tomatoes) this week. She played with it for a long time and wasn't very interested in sharing her pizza with Mommy!
Another thing Grace has been doing is pulling a chair up to the window ledge and putting her plates there like she is in a restaurant with a view. The lake has been frozen and we haven't seen too many ducks or geese, but we do have some crazy men who think ice fishing is fun. And, on the other side of the lake, a group of kids cleared off a section to play hockey. So, there still is a lot to look at out there!
