Everyone loves a snow day!

This was the first significant snowfall this winter.  We ended up with a snow day and by 10:30 it was nice enough to go out and play.  Grace used her sled and Kyle and I shoveled a lot of heavy, wet snow.

My funny valentine

Since the first day of February Grace (and Kyle) have been waking up each morning to a new heart that tells them one reason why I love them.  It is fun to see Grace rush to the bathroom mirror to see the new one each day.

Our school had the day off on the Friday before Valentine's day, so I had the rare opportunity to volunteer in Grace's class for their party.  I didn't get any photos, but it was nice to see her in her element, interacting with her classmates.  This year, Grace has 20 children in her 3rd grade class - and only 6 of them are girls!  With so many boys and Star Wars: The Force Awakens as one of the top movies this winter, she decided to go with a Star Wars theme for her cards to her classmates. She put them together with her babysitter, Katelynn, one evening when Kyle and I were out to dinner.

The Kent State hockey team visited the 3rd and 4th grade physical education classes at Grace's school this week and the kids received free passes to the game last night.  We went as a family, but Grace had more fun hanging out with her friends.  Jacob (on the left), who is new to Fishcreek this year, plays hockey! Watching Grace with the boys makes me think their might be a little crush going on - even though she says they are just friends!

Today, Grace rocked her new LuLaRoe leggings for Valentine's Day.

She wrote Kyle this wonderful note.  I love how special their bond is! He is truly a wonderful dad and I am sure there are 100 other things she could have written.  It is fun to see what stands out in her mind, though.

We took Kyle to lunch at one of his favorite places, 3 Palms.  They have pretty awesome meatballs - and, apparently, chocolate-covered strawberries!

My heart is full
