I am considering buying myself a "real" camera and some lessons to learn how to use it. This photo is from Aimee who uses a version of the Nikon I am considering. Nice, isn't it?
Definitely go for it with the camera! I have not been disappointed at all with our Digital SLR camera. And basic photo-editing software makes already good pictures even better. I don't know what differences there are between Canon's and Nikon's, we have a Canon Digital Rebel and love it. Very easy to use. And there is a ton of stuff online to teach yourself as well as great books at the library.
